NekoDiary Privacy Policy

Who we are

NekoDiary (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a cat journal published by Nyangi Studio USA, a DBA of J&W Neko Ventures LLC. NekoDiary lets you keep a private keepsake journal of your cat’s life — photos, milestones, vet visits, and everyday moments. This policy explains what information the app collects and how we handle it.

Information we collect

We collect only what’s needed to run the app:

Account information. When you sign in, we receive a unique account identifier and email address through your chosen sign-in method (Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or email and password). If you use Sign in with Apple’s private email relay, we never see your real email address.
Your cat’s journal content. The cat profiles, journal entries, dates, notes, and photos you create in the app. This is content you choose to add.
Photos you add. Images you attach to entries, stored so they sync across your devices. The app only accesses photos you explicitly select.
Basic technical & diagnostic data. Standard app and device information (such as app version, device type, and crash logs) used to keep the app stable. We do not use this to build advertising profiles. We also use Google Analytics for Firebase to record anonymous usage events (such as creating a cat profile or completing onboarding) to understand how the app is used and improve it. These events never include your cat’s names, notes, photos, or your email.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, or health data.

How we use it

To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
To store and sync your cat’s journal across your devices.
To operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
To respond to your support requests.

We do not use your journal content for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Where your data lives

NekoDiary uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage) to securely store your account and journal data. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Google processes this data on our behalf as a service provider; their handling is governed by Google’s privacy and security commitments.

Your data is stored and processed on Google Cloud servers located in the United States. If you access NekoDiary from outside the United States — including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland — your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. Where required, these transfers are covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses that Google maintains as part of its data-processing terms.

We never sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited cases:

Service providers that operate the app’s infrastructure (e.g., Google Firebase) under agreements that limit their use of the data to providing the service.
Legal requirements, if we are required by law to disclose information in response to a valid legal request.
With your direction, such as features you actively use to share or export your journal.

Retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual entries at any time within the app. You may also delete your entire account from within the app — when you do, your account and associated journal data, including photos, are permanently removed from our systems.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Because NekoDiary stores your data under your account, you can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us and we’ll help. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

We process your data to provide the service you request (to perform our agreement with you) and to keep the app secure and improve it (our legitimate interests).

Children’s privacy

NekoDiary is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
